Fondmetal at Historic Minardi Day 2026: Past and Present Come Together in Imola
We’re back in Formula 1. And we couldn’t have chosen a better occasion to celebrate this return.
On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, we participated in the 10th edition of theHistoric Minardi Dayat the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Racetrack in Imola.

For Fondmetal, however, being in Imola had an even more special significance.
At our booth, right next to us, was theAston Martin AMR26 equipped with Fondmetal wheels.
The present of our Formula 1 history, in the place where some of the most important chapters of its past come to life again every year.
From the Past to the Present
The Historic Minardi Day has a unique feature: here, motorsport history isn’t just locked away in a display case—it returns to the track.
Over the weekend, cars from a wide range of generations took turns on the track, from historic Formula 1 cars to single-seaters from the junior categories, as well as prototypes and GTs. In total, there were 590 cars took to the track, accompanied by another 200 cars that were the stars of the gathering and the parade. Among these were 34 historic Formula 1 cars. (source: Minardi)
Amid all this, Fondmetal brought something different: the present.
See theAston Martin AMR26 surrounded by the cars that have defined decades of Formula 1 was a particularly meaningful sight.
Because today, 26 years after the final season of the Telefonica Minardi Fondmetal team, we have officially returned to the World Championship grid as the Official Wheel Supplier of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team.
Two distant eras, brought together in a single weekend. On one hand, the shared history with Minardi and Gabriele Rumi. On the other, a new Formula 1—one that has changed profoundly—and an Aston Martin that takes to the track with wheels designed and manufactured by Fondmetal.
Thank you for joining us
Customers, friends, partners, Formula 1 fans, and people who were familiar with Fondmetal through its history. But also many visitors who stopped by simply because they were intrigued by the Aston Martin, perhaps discovering right then and there the connection that has linked Fondmetal to Formula 1 for over forty years.
We met people who remembered the Fondmetal single-seaters of the 1990s, others who followed the Minardi era, and many young people who weren’t around to experience that history. Different generations, united by the same passion. And that was perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of the weekend. Being able to share who we were while, at the same time, showing who we are today.
We would therefore like to thank the Minardi family and the organizers of Historic Minardi Day for welcoming us once again to an event to which we feel deeply connected.
And above all, we want to say thank you to all of you.
After 26 years, we’re officially back in Formula 1, and being able to celebrate this moment right here in Imola—together with Minardi and all of you—made it even more special. From the past to the present, with our eyes already set on what’s to come.
